Testimony Experience

 

A tenant sued a sub-lessor for damages resulting from a default on a sublease agreement. Engaged by plaintiff’s counsel to determine the amount of economic damages resulting from the default.  Testimony as an expert witness in measuring economic damages was provided at trial.

 

The wife in a divorce claimed the value of the husband’s pool supply and maintenance business to be significantly higher than the husband believed it to be.  She also claimed he was taking unreported cash out of the business.  Engaged by husband’s counsel to appraise the value of the 50% interest in the business and investigate the claim involving unreported cash. Testimony as expert witness in business valuation and forensic accounting was provided in oral deposition. Case settled during trial.

 

A beverage distributor sued another beverage distributor for a variety of complaints including tortuous interference, breach of contract, and conspiracy to defraud.  Engaged by counsel for the defendant to determine the amount of the plaintiff’s lost profits, if any.  Testimony as an expert witness in measuring economic damages was provided at trial.

 

The wife in a divorce claimed multiple assets to be her separate property in addition to claims for reimbursement and economic contribution.  Engaged by wife’s counsel to investigate and determine the amount of her separate property claims, claims for reimbursement and claims for economic contribution.  Testimony as an expert in tracing and investigative accounting was provided at trial.

 

A sister along with her husband and child filed a suit to remove her brother and parents as general partners of a family limited partnership, then dissolve and liquidate the partnership.  Engaged by counsel for the defendants to investigate and determine the percentage of the partnership interests of each partner. Testimony as an expert witness in investigative accounting was provided in oral deposition.  Case settled prior to trial.

 

An automobile dealership was sued for breach of contract by a company that leased software to dealerships.  Engaged by counsel for the defendant to determine the amount of the plaintiff’s claim for damages from lost profits, if any, as well as the defendant’s counterclaim for damages from fraud and antitrust. Testimony as an expert witness in measuring economic damages was provided in oral deposition.  Case settled prior to trial.  

 

The husband in a divorce claimed that stock acquired during the marriage was his separate property because it was the continuation of a sole-proprietorship he operated prior to marriage.  Engaged by counsel to investigate the husband’s claim of separate property and the amounts of the community’s claims for reimbursement and economic contribution if the court found the stock to be the husband’s separate property. Testimony as an expert witness in tracing and investigative accounting was provided in oral deposition and at a mini-trial to determine the character of the stock.  Case settled prior to trial.

 

An armed security guard sued her employer for economic losses sustained from an on-the-job injury.  Engaged by plaintiff’s counsel to determine the amount of the plaintiff’s lost earnings. Testimony as an expert witness in measuring economic damages was provided in deposition and at arbitration.

 

The wife in a divorce claimed the value of the husband’s 5% restricted stock ownership in a regional sign business to be significantly higher than the husband believed it to be.  Engaged by husband’s counsel to appraise the value of the 5% restricted stock ownership.  Testimony as expert witness in business valuation was provided in deposition and at trial.
